Year: 1988

Album: Immigrés

The album that turned the Senegal pop star into an international icon sounds as joyful today as it did back in the ’80s. Known more for his percussion, there is some great guitar work, especially on the title track, hiding under N’Dour’s famous soulful voice that made fans out of Peter Gabriel and anyone else with a sense of rhythm.
