The Decker Building, the middle building in this picture, was the original location of Andy Warhol’s Factory studio. On the 6th floor of this slim building on the northwest corner of Union Square, Warhol created some his most iconic works, and this is where the Velvet Underground, then under Warhol’s bankroll, practiced and performed the songs that would eventually make up their groundbreaking debut.
